A man who was found dead in an industrial estate toilet had been laying there ‘for days’.
The body of Amand Ciritis was eventually discovered by an employee in a cubicle on the site of Sylvan Works, in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.
The 59-year-old man was found last November and at first it was unknown how he had died, Stoke-on-Trent Live reported.
In a statement to Amand’s inquest, the worker said: “The toilets are unlocked 24/7. As I walked in I saw a man lying on the floor.
“He looked grey. I ran back and told my boyfriend and my dad. I had not seen the man before.”
Following the shocking discovery of the man’s corpse, police and paramedics were called to the scene.
He had previously lived in Cobridge.

PC Joshua Wilton was called to the scene. He said: “A deceased male had been found in the cubicle block of a toilet.
“We found a male lying on the floor on his back. He had no visible injuries.
“Paramedics arrived and life was pronounced extinct. He had been there for a few days.
“People regularly saw him going into the toilet block and presumed he was homeless and using it to maintain his hygiene.”
A post-mortem examination has failed to establish exactly how Amand died.
A pathologist said: “The man had evidence of pneumonia and rib fractures. He had chronic pancreatitis.
“He could have died from a combination of ethanol intoxication, pneumonia, and rib fractures.”
North Staffordshire assistant coroner Daniel Howe, said: “He died as a result of a combination of natural causes contributed to by injury and alcohol use.
