Get Rid of Clutter – 6 Ways to Handle the Nasty Decluttering Tasks the Easy Way

Although decluttering your home has many benefits, sometimes you may encounter a task that is just plain tedious to do. Also, you may find excuses for postponing the task as well.

To handle tasks like these, here are some tips you can use when you encounter a tedious task.

Do it as soon as possible
The first thing is to do the task as soon as possible. For example, you might do it in the morning after waking up or having a breakfast first.

By using this choice, the tedious task is done first and you can enjoy for the rest of the knowing that it is done and taken care of.

Have a fixed time for it
If you have certain tasks, that you have to do it continuously, it helps to have a fixed time for it. At least, this works for me.

The thing is that when you know some boring or tedious task are coming, you can prepare it mentally and that makes accomplishing the task easier.

Do it at once
Want to complete a task, so that you don’t have to think of it anymore after doing it? Then decide to do it all at once.

For example, cleaning the windows of my home is one of these tasks. I know that once I do it at once, I don’t have to bother myself about it anymore. This is a big task and I’m doing it twice a year, so after it’s done, I feel good.

Even if the tasks like this take more time to accomplish, the task is then done at once and you can start thinking something else.

Do it in small chunks at a time
Another way to handle a boring task, especially if it is a big one, is to do it in small chunks. By that way you don’t overwhelm yourself, but you get closer to the finish line every time you do a small part of it at a time.

Do it with someone else
If you have a partner or kids, you can decide to do the work together. By this way, everyone can do their part and the tasks are split amongst different people. Also, things get completed much faster this way.

Outsource it
Finally, you can outsource the whole thing to someone else. If you feel you can afford it and appreciate the free time you get by doing this, then this is a viable option.

I’m still currently cleaning my home with my wife, but at some point the outsourcing option is becoming a reality. By doing this, you can concentrate on other meaningful tasks, while someone else takes care of the tedious tasks.
